The season is almost upon us and this year my thoughts are around keeping in my "skinnies"
The cold is coming for most of us.. and where previously this would be a time for me and most to wrap up from head to toe and maintain business as usual, this year my thoughts are around staying dressed down for as long as possible if not all the way through.
Over the last couple of years more and more of us have taken to cold water therapy and general cold exposure.. there are definitely benefits to cold exposure and we have all made the mistake of going running and instantly wanting to strip off because we overlayered!
Will we be quicker or more efficient as runners if we expose to a bit of cold and have less layers restricting us? do the benefits outway the comfort of staying warmer? is it harder to get out the door if you aren't wearing many layers?
I have done both, I have even done shirtless running in the snow, I remain on the fence but this year lets have a go and see how we go!
To learn more check out Wim Hoff (although this is the extreme) or any of the Cold Water Therapy people you can find online.
Whatever you decide, enjoy it and feel free to check in with us on social media to let us know how you get on, we will be keeping you updated on our winter training there.
